University of Phoenix doctoral programs are primarily online with a face-to-face residency component. Residencies are available in select cities. This means you can attend class from anywhere in the world. 

One of the most convenient aspects of the University of Phoenix online learning model is that you choose the days and times to participate in class each week. You do need to meet the minimum participation requirements by posting substantive contributions to the classroom on three of seven days each week. While there are due dates for assignments, when you do the work for those assignments is up to you.

Doctorate degree programs typically take 38 months to complete. But you may be able to save time and money on your degree by transferring eligible credits from an accredited institution.

The College of Doctoral Studies may accept up to 39 doctoral-level credits, depending on the program, from a regionally or nationally accredited institution of higher learning. To see if your previous coursework would apply, please contact an Enrollment Representative.

With our Tuition GuaranteeTM, you can count on fixed, affordable pricing for your entire degree program. Our doctorate degrees are $810 per credit. You can apply for the Doctoral Scholarship, which offers up to $3,000 for new students and alumni pursuing their doctoral degree at University of Phoenix.

We offer resources geared to help you succeed from an introductory doctoral course sequence through all the steps to completing and disseminating your dissertation.

We have general computer requirements for online study, and we also provide an overview of the online learning format. It is required that students have a laptop computer to complete their face-to-face residencies.

Our classroom is very intuitive and as easy to use as email. However, if you have any questions or experience any difficulties, we offer technical support from 5:00 a.m. through 1:00 a.m., with select hours on major holidays.

Yes, all College of Doctoral Studies faculty members have doctoral degrees. Additionally, most hold positions within the fields they teach. When they are not teaching class, our instructors are leaders in their respective organizations.
